The MIR Kindergarten in Dobrograd is the first step in the city's educational ecosystem. The project embodies the idea of gradual growing up, with the environment transforming based on the child's age and needs.

The architecture and layout are based on the principle of a “natural transition”: from the nursery group to the senior group, and then to the elementary school located in an adjacent building. The kindergarten and school buildings are connected by an alley, creating a smooth and logical transition between education levels — both spatially and psychologically.

The interior design focuses on comfort and tactile experience. Soft coverings, natural materials, cozy furniture, simple forms, and warm lighting create a home-like atmosphere. We aimed for the kindergarten to feel like an extension of the child’s home.

Multifunctionality remains a key principle: for example, group rooms easily transform from sleeping areas into play spaces using retractable beds, and the sports hall becomes a theater.

If there is no space for exhibitions, the child’s need to see the results of their work is ignored, breaking the link: "I did something — I see the result — I gained an educational experience."

The outdoor area plays an important educational role. There are no standard plastic slides or rubber coatings. Instead, elements of the natural landscape are used: a vegetable garden, a greenhouse, and playgrounds with wood, sand, and stone. We were guided by the idea that nature is the best playing environment. In this project, we drew inspiration from Japanese kindergartens and their minimalist approach to outdoor spaces.

Everything in this project is aimed at creating a space where children can learn, feel free, accepted, and engaged in life. The MIR Educational Complex is a project where space and education are inseparable. The kindergarten is not just a preparation stage for school but a full-fledged part of a unified educational system.
