Architectural studio NF, in partnership with Zeon Lighting, presents a unique product designed for public spaces — The Drop, a collection of acoustic indirect lighting fixtures. These are the first lighting fixtures of this kind to be developed and manufactured in Russia.

The impetus for creating this collection was the shortage of lighting solutions on the Russian market that combine sound-absorbing properties with thoughtful light scenography.

As with all our projects, nature served as the inspiration for the collection — in this case, the metaphor of raindrops and the ripples they create on the surface of a lake. These shapes and rhythms formed the foundation of the design and defined the direction of the entire product line. We created an object that is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and intuitively understandable.

The design is based on two key principles:

• the use of acoustic materials to reduce noise levels within a space

• the use of reflected light

Incorporating acoustic materials into the fixture’s body minimizes echo and helps create a comfortable acoustic environment. Reflected light, in turn, is one of the most comfortable types of lighting for the human eye — by reflecting off surfaces, it produces soft and pleasant illumination.

A felt made from recycled plastic bottles was used as a sound-absorbing material — an eco-friendly and hypoallergenic solution.

By combining a lighting fixture with the function of an acoustic panel, the design achieves a unique multifunctionality that is especially valuable in public space projects.

The option to install Tunable White light sources allows for adjustment of lighting to suit human circadian rhythms or to create the desired atmosphere in a room.

The Drop Wall Acoustic NF lamp comes in three sizes: ø600 / ø950 / ø1200 mm. They can be mounted at any height and grouped together in various configurations. Adjustable color temperature and light tone options are also available.

The color palette features natural, neutral shades inspired by the environment.
